Quiz-iT Privacy Policy

Who we are
Quiz-iT is made by Quality Trade Holdings LLC, Sheridan, Wyoming, United States. For any privacy question or request, email info@qualitytradeholdingsllc.com.
No account
You never sign up or log in. We don't know who you are, and we don't run servers that store anything about you.
What stays on your phone
The app saves these on your phone only. They never leave it unless you share them yourself:
- your settings (sound, country, language, seasonal themes)
- how far you've got in each game, your grades, awards and Record Shelf
- Daily Challenge results and duels, including the name you typed for a duel
- your birth year, only if you play Your Era
- whether you have Premium, and your free-play and party-pass timers
- saved song and photo lookups, so they load faster next time
You can delete all of it at any time: open Settings → Privacy → Delete all my data on this phone, or delete the app.
What goes over the internet
To work, the app talks to these services. Like any website, each one can see your phone's internet (IP) address and basic technical details (such as the type of phone). None of them get your name, birth year or scores from us.
| Service | Why |
|---|---|
| Apple iTunes Search | 30-second song previews and album covers |
| Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons | pictures and chart lists |
| Open Trivia Database | some quick-fire questions |
| Expo (expo.dev) | checking for and downloading app updates |
| Our website | an updated calendar of seasonal themes (only the calendar file is downloaded) |
| Google AdMob | ads in the free version (see below) |
Ads (free version)
The free version shows a small banner at the bottom of the screen, and short videos that you choose to watch (to save a streak or keep playing). We never show pop-up ads you didn't ask for. Premium has no ads.
Ads come from Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, Google receives information such as:
- your IP address, and the rough location it suggests (city or region, not your exact location)
- your phone's advertising ID, where you allow it (see below)
- device details: phone model, operating system, language, and the app's name and version
- which ads were shown, and whether you tapped them
Personalized ads (ads based on your interests) are only shown if you allow them:
- UK, EU, Switzerland: the app asks for your consent the first time it opens. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices. If you say no, you may still see ads that aren't personalized.
- iPhone and iPad: Apple asks whether Quiz-iT may track you. If you say no, Google doesn't get your advertising ID. You can change this in your iPhone's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's Settings → Privacy → Ads.
- US states with privacy laws (such as California): you can opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your information for ads by contacting us, or with any privacy choice the app shows you.
Google and the other services above may process information in the United States and other countries outside where you live. For players in the UK, EU and Switzerland, Google uses the legal safeguards those laws require for such transfers (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses).
How Google uses this information: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Purchases
Premium is bought through the App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google handle the payment; we never see your card details. The app only learns whether the purchase went through.
Only what you share
Duel codes and Daily Challenge results leave your phone only when you share them yourself (for example in a message). A duel code contains the name you typed, your answers and your time.
Children
Quiz-iT is a general-audience game, made for families and friends to play together. It isn't directed at children on their own, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child's information has been collected, contact us and we'll help.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the UK or EU GDPR, or US state laws), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your information, to object to its use, and to withdraw consent. Because we don't keep any information about you on our side, most of what the app stores is on your phone, where you can delete it yourself. For information Google holds for ads, use the ad choices above or Google's own tools. You can always contact us, and you can complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
Legal bases (UK/EU): personalized ads and storing information on your device for ads rely on your consent; non-personalized ads, measuring ads and preventing fraud rely on legitimate interests, which you can object to in the consent form.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Important changes will also be shown in the app.
